The Dark mutant Cho Namaan, who believed he could become a NoHead overlord through finding relics, performs cha mok on his opponent's leg.

"Cha mok translates as "to otherwise maim," targeting legs, limbs, or appendages that will disable your opponent."
Cecelia Martez[src]

Dismemberment involved the loss of one or more limbs, such as the hand, foot, arm, or leg. The loss of the head was sometimes referred to as dismemberment, but was more accurately described as beheading or decapitation.

In swordplay, cha mok was the act of cutting off an opponent's limb. Cha sai was the act of cutting off an opponent's weapon arm.

Cha mok was used to disable and effectively incapacitate an opponent. Often, it was used as an attack of opportunity during combat by taking advantage of an opening. Dark mutants usually used this technique to bring down their opponents before ruthlessly killing them or even as a cruel form of punishment.

The Godslayer received a cha mok strike from his own niece, Red, in their duel. Justin Keith severed the legs of the last surviving NoHead in order to interrogate him.[4]
